Typically, a voltage supervisor is used to monitor the supply voltage in embedded circuits and microcontroller systems for abnormal voltage conditions. In the case an abnormal condition is detected, the supervisory circuit resets the controller and keeps it in that state as long as that condition persists. As a voltage level triggered one-shot, a voltage supervisor can also be used in different application outside of its intended use. This reference design utilizes TPS3890 voltage supervisor as a white LED flash timer for cameras. Read more
